PARQUET files begin with the PAR1 magic number, a sequence of characters that applications use to identify the file as a Parquet file. They contain one or more row groups that organize the file's data and include metadata in a footer that describes the data, including information about its columns and row groups. The PAR1 magic number also appears at the end of a PARQUET file.
