Wat is een EWL-bestand?
An EWL file is a data file created by EclipseCrossword, a program used to generate crossword puzzles. It contains a list of words that make up a crossword puzzle and clues for each word in plain text.

Each word contained in an EWL file is followed by a colon, a space, and then a matching clue. Every word and clue pair is stored on a separate line. An example of an EWL file:
DOG: Canine
SHOE: Footwear
GREEN: Color
You can open EWL files in EclipseCrossword. However, the program is only available for Windows. If you come across an EWL file in macOS you can open the EWL file with a text editor since the file is stored in plain text.
