Wat is een 1PE-bestand?
A 1PE file is a form used by the Windows version of Intuit TurboTax, an application for preparing U.S. taxes. It stores data for displaying tax forms within the software and includes form text and layout information. 1PE files may also contain instructions that may be included with each form.

TurboTax is a tax return application for preparing and filing U.S. Federal and State tax returns. It is available as a downloadable desktop version for Windows and macOS and as a web version (TurboTax Online).
Although only the Windows version of TurboTax supports 1PE files. The Mac version is packaged with .3PE and .3ME files that store the forms.

You can find 1PE files in the TurboTax installation in Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\[version]\Forms\

You should not attempt to open 1PE files manually. Instead, the Windows version of TurboTax references the 1PE files and loads the tax forms they contain when run.
