An XHB file is a budget tracking document created by HomeBank, a free personal accounting program. It contains a record of a user's financial accounts and financial transactions, organized such that the user can get an overview of their saving and spending. XHB files are XML files that contain formatted plain text data, which HomeBank loads to show a user's accounts and transactions.

HomeBank allows you to enter your financial accounts, balances, income, and expenses to track your personal spending and budget. It can show budgetary data in text, chart, or graph format, broken down into daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly timeframes.
Each HomeBank budget document is saved as an XHB file. XHB files consist of XML data that you can technically view in any text editor. However, opening an XHB file in HomeBank allows you to view the data it contains in a cleaner, more understandable format.

You can open an XHB file with Maxime DOYEN HomeBank (multiplatform). Select from the program's menu bar. Then, navigate to and open your XHB file.
If you do not have access to HomeBank, you can open your XHB file in Microsoft Notepad (Windows), Apple TextEdit (Mac), or any other text editor to view the XML data it contains.
