A PPR file is a report file generated by VamSoft ORF (Open Relay Filter), an anti-spam and email filtering solution used with Microsoft Exchange servers. It stores reporting data generated after ORF processes email traffic, including information on spam detection, message handling, and filtering results. PPR files do not contain email messages themselves, but instead summarize how ORF evaluated and handled them.

The PPR format is a proprietary report format used internally by the ORF reporting component. ORF creates these files so system administrators or IT professionals responsible for managing Microsoft Exchange environments can review filtering activity over a specific time period, identify trends, and evaluate how effectively the spam filter is performing. General users usually do not encounter PPR files since they are part of server-side administration rather than everyday email use.

You can open PPR files with the VamSoft ORF Reporting Tool. Because the file is proprietary, you will not be able to open PPR files with standard text editors or spreadsheet applications.
