LICENSEファイルとは？
A LICENSE file is a software license file commonly used by commercial software applications. It contains registration information that allows a registered user to open and access a piece of software.

Many commercial software applications require users to purchase a license in order to use them. The license proves that the user paid for the application and is authorized to use it. These licensing credentials are sometimes stored in LICENSE files, which are referenced when the user opens or logs in to the application. If the application finds a valid LICENSE file, the user is allowed to access the application.
注: Software license files are more often saved with the .LIC extension.

Generally, you should not need to open or edit a LICENSE file. Editing a LICENSE file could invalidate your application license.
If you need to install or import a LICENSE file for use with an application, you should refer to that application's setup instructions. In most cases, LICENSE files should be stored within an application's main directory or a subdirectory.
