You can open a BIX file with the Kodicom software included with the purchase of the CCTV cameras and DVR that captured the footage. You can also open a BIX file with Techjunkies i3 DVR (formerly DiginetCenter) in Windows.

The Kodicom DVR included with the purchase of the CCTV equipment can export the BIX and BOX files storing the video and audio to the more widely supported .AVI format.
