What is a VII file?
A VII file is a video created by Happaning or another ViiVid Tech application. It contains a video recorded using the app, as well as synchronization data that allows the app to link the video to other users' videos. Happaning allows users to swipe on a VII video to see a linked video, recorded from a different perspective at roughly the same time.
Happaning is a mobile application that allows users to record, share, and view videos, much as users would on Instagram and other social platforms. However, Happaning is unique in that while viewing a video, users can swipe in any direction to see a linked video recorded from another perspective. For example, if a Happaning user views a video recorded at a concert and swipes left, they'll see a different video recorded at the same concert, by another user.
Each video shown on the Happaning app is saved as a VII file. In addition to video data, VII files contain location and timestamp data used to synchronize them with other users' VII files. This allows Happaning to link videos together and show relevant videos when users swipe left, right, up, or down in the app.
How to open a VII file
VII files are not meant to be opened manually. Happaning (Android, iOS) and other ViiVid tech apps use VII files to show videos to users.
