What is a TCO2 file?
A TCO2 file is an operating system (OS) file used by Texas Instruments TI-Nspire CX II handheld graphing calculators. It contains an update that can be applied to a calculator's OS. TCO2 files are downloaded and managed using Texas Instruments TI-Nspire Software, which is available for both Windows and macOS.
More Information
Middle school, high school, and college students use TI-Nspire CX II graphing calculators to plot functions, analyze numerical data, solve complex equations, and perform other mathematical operations. The TI-Nspire CX II uses its own unique OS, which can be updated when the calculator is connected to a computer that has Texas Instruments TI-Nspire Software installed.
To update a TI-Nspire CX II's OS, a student or teacher must first download an update file from Texas Instruments' website (education.ti.com). These update files are saved with the .tco2 extension. From there, the student or teacher must use Texas Instruments TI-Nspire Software to finish performing their OS update, as described in their calculator's guidebook.
How to open a TCO2 file
During the TI-Nspire CX II OS update process, Texas Instruments TI-Nspire Software will ask you to select a handheld OS file. At that point, select your TCO2 file, followed by Install OS. The TI-Nspire Software will then use your TCO2 file to update your calculator's OS.
