What is a TAPESTRY file?
A TAPESTRY file is a connector file used by The Iconfactory Tapestry, a content feed aggregator for iOS and iPadOS. It contains information describing a feed and instructions for how Tapestry can load it. Users can install TAPESTRY connectors in Tapestry to add supported apps and services from which the app can pull feeds.
More Information
Iconfactory released Tapestry in February 2025 to enable users to unify various content sources, such as blogs, social media platforms, RSS feeds, podcasts, and YouTube channels, into a single, chronological timeline. The app includes built-in connectors that work with many prominent sources, such as RSS, Tumblr, and Mastodon.
However, Tapestry users can also download and add third-party connectors to work with additional sources with a publicly accessible feed on the Internet. For example, a user can download a TAPESTRY connector from the web that adds Discourse forums to their timeline, which they can filter by category or tag.
How to open a TAPESTRY file
You can open TAPESTRY files with Tapestry on an iOS device. To open a TAPESTRY file:
- Open Tapestry settings, and tap Connectors, then select Add a Connector.
- Choose the TAPESTRY file you want to open and install.
- Go to Settings → Connectors, and select the connector.
