What is an STE file?
Site settings file created by Dreamweaver, a program used to create Web sites; contains site publishing information, such as the remote server, login name, encrypted password, remote folder, and local folder; used for backing up and reusing site settings.
STE files are saved in XML so that site settings can easily be exported and imported between multiple computers.
