What is an SKIM file?
File created by Skim, a PDF reading application; saves notes written by the user for a .PDF file; saved separately from the PDF file and allows the user to save annotations for a document.

To load a notes file, choose File → Read Notes.... The SKIM file should have the same filename prefix as the PDF file. For example, document.pdf would have a notes file named document.skim.
