A game.save file contains a saved game state created by RetroGames.cc, an online video game emulator. It is used to resume a saved game on RetroGames.cc.
More Information
RetroGames.cc is a website that allows gamers to play classic video games in a web browser. To do so, RetroGames.cc provides in-browser emulators for classic video game consoles and games.
When playing a game on RetroGames.cc, you can save your current game state. This allows you to resume your game at another time. After clicking the Save State button, RetroGames.cc gives you the option to save your file locally or to the website's servers. Games saved locally are saved in game.save files.
Each game.save file can be used only on the webpage of the game from which it was created. For example, if you save your game state while playing Sonic Classic Heroes, and then attempt to load your game.save file while playing a different game, the file will not open. As such, you may want to organize your game.save files into folders named for the game from which they were created, if you plan to save your progress in multiple games.
How to open a SAVE file
You can open a game.save file on RetroGames.cc. To do so, navigate to the page used to play the game from which your game.save file was created. Then, begin playing the game and select the Load State button.
