What is a RISE file?

Model file created by the RISE Editor, a CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tool used to develop engineering and information system diagrams; contains a model, which may include drawings, entities, relations, interfaces, views, and notes.

RISE files are used to track and modify design documentation throughout the life cycle of a business product. They may also be used to generate SQL/DDL code that updates databases with new model information.

RISE files are stored in an XML format using the RISE DTD (Document Type Definition) schema.
