What is an MT9 file?
Audio file created in the Music 2.0 format, which was developed by Korea's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI); separates instruments into six channels so that listeners can adjust the volume of individual parts; meant to store interactive music.
Music 2.0 digital audio files can be used for changing levels of guitar, drums, vocals, and other instruments. The MT9 format is still under development and has not been widely adopted. Some commercial firms have investigated its potential in mobile phones and other playback devices.
