What is an MRXS file?
An MRXS file is a digital slide image file that stores high-resolution images captured from microscope slides. MRXS is the native image format used by 3DHISTECH Pannoramic digital slide scanners to store high-resolution microscope slide images for viewing and analysis. Researchers, pathologists, and other microscopy users can use MRXS files to work with digitized tissue and specimen samples without viewing the original glass slide under a microscope.

MRXS files can store large, detailed image datasets that allow users to examine different areas of a digitized slide at different magnifications. Depending on the scanner and imaging process, an MRXS file can also contain fluorescence images or multiple layers of image data, such as Z-stacks. 3DHISTECH scanners use MRXS for both brightfield and fluorescence imaging.
MRXS files are primarily encountered in digital pathology, microscopy research, and other scientific imaging workflows that use 3DHISTECH scanners.
