What is an MJKSMAP file?

An MJKSMAP file is a batch signature map created by Majik Signature, a software library for digitally signing and verifying files. It stores a manifest that associates files with their digital signatures, allowing multiple files in a folder or .ZIP archive to be signed and verified as a group. MJKSMAP files can help confirm that files have not been modified since they were signed.

More Information

The MJKSMAP file type saves information in a binary container format that includes a version header and a JSON-based payload. The payload contains information about each signed file, including its path, content hash, size, file type, and digital signature information. Majik Signature uses a combination of Ed25519 and ML-DSA-87 to create signatures, providing both conventional and post-quantum cryptographic signatures for each file.

The Majik Signature app can also use the content hash to locate a signed file if it has been moved or renamed after signing. Software developers and organizations that need to sign, distribute, or verify groups of files primarily use this format.

How to open an MJKSMAP file

MJKSMAP files are not meant to be opened directly. Instead, Majik Signature references them when it signs and verifies files.
