What is a GMP file?
Data package file created and used by Global Mapper, a GIS application that allows users to view and convert vector, raster, and elevation data; contains map data from imported layers and all of the configuration settings and edits that have been made to the layers.
The GMP file is designed to help Global Mapper users share data with each other more efficiently. The file can contain data in any format, whether it is raster, vector, or elevation. The GMP file is also useful for creating backups of datasets because it can be easily imported if the original data is lost or hardware fails.
