What is a FARC file?
A FARC file is an archive used by a PlayStation 3, 4, or Vita video game. It contains one or more game assets (such as scripts, 3D models, or textures). Most notably, games in the Little Big Planet series use FARC files.
More Information
In some cases, a game's FARC file(s) are stored within its .PSARC archive. In other cases, a game's FARC file(s) may be stored within an uncompressed game data directory.
How to open a FARC file
If your FARC file is from a Little Big Planet game, you can use Farctool2 to view and extract the files your FARC file contains. If your FARC file is from a different PlayStation 3, 4, or Vita game, you may be able to use QuickBMS and an associated, game-specific BMS script to extract the file(s) your FARC file contains. (Many game-specific scripts are linked on QuickBMS's homepage.)
