Corel Cataloged Folder File

What is an EVENT file?
An EVENT file is a hidden file created by various Corel applications, including Video Studio and PaintShop Photo Express (discontinued). The Corel app creates an EVENT file in each folder the app has cataloged. EVENT files contain records about whether the app has modified the folder's contents over time (e.g. if picture files have been added or removed).
You can remove EVENT files, but the Corel software will recreate them the next time the folder is cataloged. Filenames for EVENT files use the name of the folder that contains them. For example, a folder named "pictures" would have a hidden event file named pictures.event.
How to open an EVENT file
Since EVENT files are hidden, you will likely never encounter them. If you do find an EVENT file, you should not attempt to open it. Instead, the Corel app, such as VideoStudio, references the file.
