What is an EFV file?
An EFV file is a sound file used by the Ensoniq VFX-SD digital workstation synthesizer, a keyboard released in 1989. It stores MIDI-like data in the Ensoniq VFX-SD (EFV) sound format, which includes notes to be played, tempo and pitch settings, and other information related to playback on the Ensoniq VFX-SD device.
More Information
Ensoniq released the VFX-SD in 1989 as an improvement upon the VFX synthesizer it released earlier in the year. The VFX-SD included updated features, such as a floppy drive, a 24-track sequencer, and improved sounds.
Additionally, the VFX-SD sequencer came with editing tools, allowing users to arrange notes and patterns to compose a song saved as an EFV file. After composing sequences, users could transfer and share EFV files via floppy disks.
How to open an EFV file
No known program can open, play, or convert EFV files.
