What is a CMO file?
A CMO file is a BIOS file used by ASUS computers running WIndows. It contains a BIOS profile, which includes saved settings and instructions to load computer hardware, such as whether fast boot is enabled or disabled and the boot performance mode.
More Information
CMO files are only used on Windows-based computers and not on Mac computers. They are typically saved on a USB device, which can be loaded on to a computer. To load a CMO file on a computer, follow these instructions:
- Insert the USB storage device storing the CMO file
- Turn on the system
- Enter BIOS setup program
- Select "Tools" and choose "Load from File"
- Choose the drive with the BIOS profile you want and click "Enter"
NOTE: BIOS stands for "Basic Input/Output System" and is a type of firmware used by a computer's microprocessor to boot the computer system when it is turned on.
