What is a BRUSHCATEGORY file?
A BRUSHCATEGORY file contains information about brushes used by Corel Painter, a digital artwork application. It stores a collection of brush variants, which are specific brushes and brush settings. Painter users export and import BRUSHCATEGORY files to share or store paintbrushes.
An example of a Painter brush category and its brush variants is the Markers category. It contains specific brushes, such as Fine Tip Marker, Leaky Marker, and Sharp Marker, each with unique settings to customize its appearance.
You can create a new brush category in Painter by selecting Brushes → New Brush Category.... Additionally, you can export a category as a BRUSHCATEGORY file by selecting Brushes → Export → Category.
How to open a BRUSHCATEGORY file
You can open a BRUSHCATEGORY file with Corel Painter. For example, to open a BRUSHCATEGORY file, select Brushes → Import → Category..., choose the category, and click Open.
