Was ist eine MAP16-Datei?
A MAP16 file contains graphic tiles used to make up the background and foreground of a level in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Super Mario World (SMW) game. It stores a collection of 256 graphic tiles organized into a 16x16 grid. MAP16 files are typically created and opened using Lunar Magic, an SMW game editor.

You most likely will only encounter a MAP16 file if you emulate the SNES version of SMW on your computer and use Lunar Magic to modify the foreground and background of levels in the game. Lunar Magic can also modify .MWL Super Mario World level files.
HINWEIS: Lunar Magic requires version 1.0 Super Mario World SNES ROM, or the American version 1.0 Mario All Stars + World SNES ROM.
