Software Overview
E-UAE is an open source program designed to emulate Commodore Amiga computers, a family of personal computers released in the 1980s and 1990s. It is a version of UAE (Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator), which was released in 1995.
E-UAE features an emulation core based on WinUAE, which is the Windows port of the UAE Amiga Emulator. The core brings many of the WinUAE capabilities to Mac OS X and Linux. The application supports the 'uae-configuration' tool merged from WinUAE that allows UAE settings to be queried and modified from the emulation environment. It also includes an integrated mouse-hack feature that synchronizes the Amiga mouse pointer with the host pointer when E-UAE is running on your desktop in a window.
In order to fully use E-UAE you need an image of a version of the Amiga Kickstart ROM, which is copyrighted so you must own an Amiga to make the ROM image or purchase one. Also, there is no stable support for the E-UAE software and releases have ceased since 2007. So if you are bent on using the E-UAE program prepare to encounter some significant bumps in the road.
