What is an XYT file?
An XYT file contains a video effect used by VivaVideo, a video editing application for Android devices. It includes effects like filters, frames, or transitions to enhance videos. Although it was once available on iOS, VivaVideo currently supports XYT files only on Android.
More Information
VivaVideo organizes XYT files in various subdirectories within its assets/xiaoying directory. The application references XYT files to overlay effects, emojis, text, and music on user videos. Users can customize their content with downloadable effects and other media elements integrated as XYT files.
Each XYT file consists of an XML structure paired with additional binary data that provides the details needed to render effects. Typically, these files feature a binary file header; many also include binary data outlining the specifics of the associated effect or asset. In some instances, XYT files are linked to other assets, such as an .M4A file when music is involved.
NOTE: VivaVideo Lite and other QuVideo video editing applications also support XYT files for effects.
How to open an XYT file
XYT files are not meant to be opened. Instead, VivaVideo and QuVideo reference the files to load the effects.
Also, to view the XML data in an XYT file, open it with any text editor.
