What is a WTML file?
A WTML file is a data file used by WorldWide Telescope, a 3D program used to explore earth, planetary, and astronomical data. It contains simple or complex sets of data in XML format referenced by WorldWide Telescope.
More Information
WTML files are commonly referred to as collection files. They are used to store various types of data for the WorldWide Telescope application. They may store tours (animated slide shows), links to one or more images (foreground or background images), and places (view placement of a planet or star that includes zoom level and latitude and longitude degrees).
NOTE: WorldWide Telescope was originally created by Microsoft Research and was released in 2008. It is now open source and managed by the American Astronomical Society.
