What is a PHYPHOX file?
A PHYPHOX file is a custom experiment created for use with phyphox. It contains XML data that defines the experiment's name, inputs, outputs, views, data analysis procedures, and data output formats. You can create PHYPHOX files in the web-based pyhphox Experiment Editor.
More Information
Phyphox is a mobile application that allows you to perform scientific experiments using your smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device's sensors (such as its accelerometer, gyroscope, and GPS). The program includes several preset experiments you can perform using your device. Advanced users can create their own phyphox experiments using the program's accompanying Experiment Editor. These experiments are saved as PHYPHOX files.
Each PHYPHOX file is an XML file that contains up to 10 blocks of information. These blocks define the experiment's title, the version of phyphox it is meant to be used with, its inputs, outputs, and views, any network connections required to perform the experiment, and all other experiment-related data.
How to open a PHYPHOX file
You can open and edit a PHYPHOX file with phyphox Experiment Editor (Web). To do so, open the Experiment Editor in your web browser and select Load experiment.
To transfer a PHYPHOX file to phyphox (Android, iOS) open the file in Experiment Editor and select Download/Transfer. Then, use the QR code distribution methods to open the file on your mobile device.
Finally, if you want to view the XML data a PHYPHOX file contains, you can open the file in any text or source code editor, such as Microsoft Notepad (Windows) or Apple TextEdit (Mac).
