A PEG file may also be a 2D animation project created by Callipeg, an iPad-only 2D animation studio. It describes the structure of a project's layers and frames. PEG files can be opened only in Callipeg.

More Information

Callipeg is a free program iPad users can use to create hand-drawn 2D animations. In addition to letting users draw and animate their own content, Callipeg allows users to import images, videos, and audio files and add those files to their animation projects.

At regular intervals, Callipeg backs up users' animation projects as PEG files. These files are stored in the On My iPad/Callipeg/Backups directory. Users can also manually export a project as a PEG file, if they want to save an additional copy of the project (for example, to transfer the project to another iPad).

How do I export a Callipeg project as a PEG file?

To manually export a Callipeg project as a PEG file, swipe from right to left on your project and then tap the Export icon. You'll then be able to export the project to the location of your choice.

How to open a PEG file

You can open a PEG file in Callipeg (iOS). To do so, you must first place the file in your iPad's On My iPad directory. Then, open Callipeg and select Import → Files. You can then select and import your PEG file.
