What is an 8CI file?
An 8CI file is an image created by a TI-84 Plus C graphing calculator. It is used as an overlay on the calculator's graph screen area. All 8CI files are 265 x 165 pixels and use 4-bit color.
Students use TI-84 Plus graphing calculators to plot graphs for complex equations. Texas Instruments released the TI-84 Plus C in 2013. Notably, TI-84 Plus C calculators have a 320 x 240 pixel color screen.
TI-84 C calculators store graph overlay images in the 8CI, or Pic Vars, image format. These images are stored in archive memory and always have a file size of 22021 bytes.
How to open an 8CI file
You can use Texas Instruments TI Connect CE (Windows, Mac) to transfer an 8CI file to a TI-84 Plus C graphing calculator. You can then use the file as a graph overlay.
How to convert an 8CI file
You can use MCJack123's 8CI to PNG Converter (multiplatform) to convert 8CI files to .PNG images. Note that using the converter requires additional prerequisite libraries and knowledge of how to compile .CPP files.
