A PTF file may also be a session file created by versions 7-9 of Avid Pro Tools, a digital audio workstation for recording and editing audio. It contains information about a session, including MIDI data, software instrument tracks, audio effects, project settings, and references to the locations of audio files in the session. Version 10 of Pro Tools replaced PTF files with the .PTX format.
