What is a KRM file?
Vibration.krm is the file that controls when and how Wiimotes vibrate while playing Mario Kart Wii, a racing game for the Nintendo Wii. It contains binary data that a Wii sends to players' Wiimotes, causing the Wiimotes to vibrate in time with collisions and other in-game actions. Vibration.krm is stored in Mario Kart Wii's Common.szs file.
More Information
When Mario Kart Wii players collide, are hit by projectiles, accelerate rapidly, and perform other in-game actions, their Wiimotes (Nintendo Wii controllers) may vibrate. These vibrations are controlled by Mario Kart Wii's KRM file, which is named vibration.krm. Vibration.krm contains binary data that specifies when and how Mario Kart Wii players' Wiimotes should vibrate.
Most Mario Kart Wii players will never encounter vibration.krm. However, those who enjoy modding Mario Kart Wii can extract vibration.krm from the game's Common.szs file and edit it using player-created mod tools.
How to open a KRM file
You can open and edit Mario Kart Wii KRM files in KRM Editor (Windows). KRM Editor allows Mario Kart Wii modders to edit the binary data vibration.krm contains, before repackaging the file within Mario Kart Wii's Common.szs file.
For more information on how to open, extract files from, and repackage SZS files, refer to the .SZS file type entry.
