What is a CTY file?
City data file used by early versions of SimCity; contains city layouts and objects (buildings, roads, trees, etc.) as well as settings, such as the starting amount of money for the city; used as a starting point for building a city.

SimCity's default city settings are saved in a file named "default.cty."
