How to create a shortcut in Windows 8

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Select a file for which you would like to create a shortcut.
  2. Right click the file and select "Create shortcut."
  3. Move the file wherever you want for easy access.
  4. Double-click the shortcut to open the original file.
NOTE: Deleting a shortcut will not affect the original file.
