Software Overview

Neat is an OS X application used to convert paper documents into digital files for organization and sharing with other users and applications. The software comes bundled with the purchase of NeatReceipts (portable scanner), NeatDesk (desktop scanner), and NeatConnect (Wi-Fi scanner). The Neat desktop software was discontinued in 2016.

The software enables you to scan documents such as receipts, business cards, and invoices, as well as import PDF and image files or forward emails and attached files directly to your Neat account. After importing the files, Neat's Indocument Identification (ID2) technology extracts words and numbers from your documents and transforms them into usable data so you don't have to manually enter data. It recognizes the document and captures the appropriate information such as contact and purchase information.

Neat stores your documents in its cloud and allows you to access them from anywhere. You don't have to worry about your confidential data as your imported files are secured with the same encryption used by banks to protect customer information. You can quickly send your information to other accounting and business applications such as TurboTax, QuickBooks, H&R Block, and Excel.

Neat is used by casual and business users to digitize their paper documents, make modifications to them, and organize them in cloud storage.
