File used by Apache OpenOffice, an open source office productivity suite; contains configuration information for an add-on in an XML format; commonly used to configure OpenOffice office extensions.

XCU files can be included as part of an .OXT extension file. They define configuration information such as menu labels, default values for document templates, and other extension parameters.
NOTE: OpenOffice.org was replaced by Apache OpenOffice in 2012.
