A WORKSPACE file contains a layout of panels that make up a workspace in Adobe Bridge, a file management application for Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) applications. It is saved in the XML standard.
More Information
Bridge provides several pre-configured workspaces you can work in and switch between, including the "Essentials" and "Libraries" workspaces. You can also configure the workspaces to provide the best user interface (UI) for your current tasks and preferences.
To show and hide panels in a workspace, select Window → Workspace, then select or deselect the panel to show or hide it. You can also right-click the tab areas of each panel to add other panels to the space.
To save a workspace as a WORKSPACE file, select Window → Workspace → New Workspace..., name the workspace, then select Save. The WORKSPACE file is automatically saved in the following directory based on the computer platform:
- Windows - [user]\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge\Workspaces\
- macOS - [user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge/Workspaces/
How to open a WORKSPACE file
You can open a WORKSPACE file with Adobe Bridge (multiplatform) by double-clicking the file (Bridge must be installed on your computer).
You can also place the WORKSPACE file in the "Workspaces" folder in the following directory:
- Windows - [user]\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge\
- macOS - [user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge/
Then, select Window → Workspace and choose the name of the workspace from the list.
NOTE: Since WORKSPACE files are saved in the XML standard, you can also open and edit them with an XML or text editor. However, remember that a WORKSPACE file will not appear the same in a text or XML editor compared to Bridge.
