A TZX file may also be a data exchange file created by version 4 or later of TimeZero Navigator or TimeZero Professional, which are marine navigation programs. It contains some combination of user-entered data, such as navigational routes, routes, marks, layers, tracks, and objects. TimeZero users use TZX files to share data with other users.
More Information
Mariners use TimeZero Navigator and Professional to load topographical charts and plot marine navigation routes and points of interest. If a user wants to share the data they entered in TimeZero Navigator or Professional with another TimeZero user, they can export it as a TZX file.
Each TZX file contains all the routes, marks, layers, tracks, and other objects a user entered in their current TimeZero session. However, TZX files do not contain the charts upon which they were created. Therefore, before opening a TZX file, you must install the corresponding chart in TimeZero Navigator or Professional, to ensure you can view the file's data correctly.
NOTE: The TZX format replaced the .TZD format used in earlier versions of TimeZero Navigator and Professional.
How to open a TZX file
You can open a TZX file in TimeZero Navigator or TimeZero Professional (Windows). To do so, select Import/Export from TimeZero's menu, and then navigate to and open your TZX file.
