What is a TT21 file?
A TT21 file is a tax return created by the 2021 version of the TurboTax Canada tax preparation tool. It stores all the information required for a 2021 tax return, such as a user's personal information, income details, donations, credits, and deductions.
More Information
TurboTax Canada 2021 is an application designed to help Canadian taxpayers file their 2021 federal and provincial tax returns. It provides step-by-step guidance for entering income, deductions, and credits, allowing users to calculate their taxes and file electronically or by mail.
Users can save their progress as a TT21 file while working on their tax return in TurboTax Canada 2021, allowing them to complete it later before filing digitally over the web or by sending it via mail. The TT21 files can also serve as backups to prevent data loss or be imported into TurboTax Canada 2022 to prefill the following year's return.
NOTE: TurboTax Canada applies file extensions based on the tax year, with .TT20 for 2020 returns and .TT22 for 2022.
