What is a TGI file?
A TGI file is a TowGeom Input file. It contains plain text data used to show a 3D model of a transmission tower. The data a TGI file contains is referred to as tower geometry.
More Information
Degi Trans TowGeom is an online program that allows engineers to quickly create 3D and 2D models of transmission towers. While designing a tower, engineers can enter inputs that create that tower's geometry. They can then save these inputs as TGI files.
Each TGI file contains data about a tower's panels, including the panels' number, height, and pattern name, and slopes, including the number of slopes and their widths. TowGeom's pattern library includes pre-existing tower geometry patterns, which engineers can load in TowGeom.
How to open a TGI file
You can open a TGI file in TowGeom (Web) to view the tower geometry it contains and see that geometry displayed as a 3D model. You can also open a TGI file in Microsoft Notepad (Windows), Apple TextEdit (Mac), or any other text editor, to view tower geometry it contains.
