What is an SXIE file?
An SXIE file is an image effect used by ShareX, a free screen capture and image sharing application. It contains settings used to apply a preset border, filter, watermark, image adjustment, or other effect to a screenshot. Users can create their own SXIE files or download pre-made effects from ShareX's website.
More Information
ShareX is a screen capture tool that allows users to create scripts that automatically adjust their screenshots and upload the shots to file sharing sites, such as Dropbox or Imgur. One of the ways users can adjust their screenshots is by using ShareX's After capture tasks → Add image effects tool to automatically apply pre-made effects.
Users create image effects by selecting Task settings → Image → Effects → Image effects configuration... from ShareX's menu bar. This launches the Image effects window, from which users can create and edit effects. When a user is done editing their effect, they can package the effect as an SXIE file, to share the effect with other ShareX users.
The Image effects window also contains an Image effects... button, which launches the Image Effects page of ShareX's website. From that page, users can download additional SXIE files, which they can import into ShareX.
How to open an SXIE file
You can open an SXIE file in ShareX (Windows). To do so, first place the file in ShareX's ImageEffects folder. Then, the effect your SXIE file contains should appear in the Presets section of ShareX's Image effects window.
