What is an SGW file?
An SGW file is a packed song project created by n-Track Studio to store information about a project and compressed audio files imported into the project. It is similar to n-Track Studio's more common .SNG Song Project file type but includes audio files imported into the project, such as .M4A or .WAV files, instead of containing references to the files stored in another location. While SGW files are typically larger than SNG files, users find them helpful when transferring and backing up projects.
More Information
n-Track Studio is a DAW for recording, editing, and mixing songs from recorded audio, samples, and beats. As you compose a song in the software, you can create and save your progress in an SNG Song Project file or an SGW Packed Song Project file.
The advantage of saving a song as an SGW file is that n-Track Studio packs all the project information and imported audio files together. As a result, you will likely find SGW files helpful when backing up projects or transferring them. In contrast, the SNG file saves references to the imported audio files. In this case, while the SNG file will be smaller, you will break the references to the audio files if you move or delete them.
How to open an SGW file
You can open SGW files with n-Track Studio on various platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. For example, to open an SNG file with the Windows version of n-Track Studio, select File → Open.
