What is an RCC file?
An RCC file is a compressed data file created by Autodesk Recap, a program used to generate 3D models or 2D drawings by scanning images. It contains structured scan data captured from a fixed-origin static or terrestrial 3D laser scanner on a tripod. RCC files are compressed to reduce the size of the file since structured scans can become very large.
More Information
You will only encounter RCC files if you use Autodesk Recap software and have imported data gathered from a structured scan. The files can be found in the "Support" folder with a project created by Recap if it includes data from a structured scan. The folder may also include LLT, DIFF, RCS, and THUMBNAIL files. Structured scan data is typically collected using Leica, Faro, Riegl, Z+F, Trimble, and Topcon 3D laser scanners.
