What is a QTP file?
A QTP file is a settings file used by the Windows version of Apple QuickTime Player. It stores a record of a user's QuickTime preferences. QuickTime automatically applies the preferences saved in a user's QTP file at launch.
More Information
Apple QuickTime Player is a media player that is bundled with macOS and was previously available for Windows. The Windows version of QuickTime saved a user's preferences, including their internet connection speed, software update, taskbar icon display, and file association notification settings, in a QTP file. The macOS version of QuickTime does not use QTP files.
By default, QTP files are named QuickTime.qtp. QuickTime for Windows stores QTP files in the following directory:
~/AppData/Apple Computer/QuickTime
NOTE: Apple discontinued the Windows version of Apple QuickTime in 2016.
