What is a PXF file?

A PXF file is a firmware file used by a Pendix eDrive. It contains an encrypted firmware update for part of an eDrive, such as its electric motor or battery management system. Pendix Support Service distributes PXF files to Pendix retailers and service partners.

More Information

Pendix is a German company that sells kits that allow bicyclists to upgrade their normal bicycles into e-Bikes. These kits are referred to as eDrives.

Pendix retailers and service partners can service eDrives using the Pendix Service App for Android. Among other things, the Service App allows retailers and partners to install new firmware on eDrives. These firmware updates are distributed as PXF files.

While PXF files contain some human-readable information, they are not meant to be manually opened by users. Instead, they are meant to be transmitted to and installed on an eDrive.

How to open a PXF file

Pendix retailers and service partners can use the Pendix Service App (Android) to install PXF files on appropriate eDrive devices. To install a PXF file, you must use the Pendix Service App to connect to an eDrive via Bluetooth. Then, you can install the file on that eDrive.
