What is a PKSZ file?
A PKSZ file is a tutored activity for a practice session created with Cisco Packet Tracer (version 8.1 or later), an interactive network systems learning tool. It stores instructions for managing various network setups similar to .PKA files and includes hints that a user can access if they need help.
More Information
Cisco Packet Tracer is an application that provides a learning environment for students to learn networking, cybersecurity, and IoT skills. People commonly use the software for distance learning, work planning, and professional training.
Before version 8.1 of Packet Tracer, the application saved instructions for users as Packet Tracer Activity (PKA) files. However, Cisco introduced the Packet Tracer Tutored Activity (PKSZ) file format when it released 8.1 to support activities with more dynamic elements, such as instructions and hints, not previously available with PKA activities.
How to open a PKSZ file
You can open a PKSZ file with Cisco Packet Tracer (version 8.1 or later) by selecting File → Open.... Any version of Cisco Packet Tracer earlier than version 8.1 cannot open PKSZ files.
