What is an MFA file?

An MFA file is an application created by Clickteam Fusion, an app-creation platform. It contains source code for a video game or other application created using Fusion. MFA files may be referenced within .MFW files.

More Information

Clickteam Fusion is an app-creation platform that developers can use to develop simple video games and other applications. Fusion applications are saved in MFA files.

Commonly, developers save multiple Fusion applications, or multiple versions of the same application, within MFW (Clickteam Fusion Project) files. MFW files do not contain any source code. Instead, they contain references to each of the MFA files a project includes.

NOTE: Clickteam Fusion replaced the Multimedia Fusion and The Games Factory programs, which also supported the MFA format (Multimedia Fusion Application).

How to open an MFA file

You can open MFA files with Clickteam Fusion (Windows). To do so, select File → Open... from the program's menu bar. After you do, your MFA file will appear as an application in Fusion.
