What is an MDECK file?
An MDECK file is a collection of one or more slides created by Corel MindManager, a visual diagramming application. It contains slides comprised of objects and branch or sub-branch topics. Users can make slides from scratch or map topics in an existing MindManager Map (.MMAP file).

MindManager is an app that allows you to create various types of mind maps, such as flowcharts and diagrams, to help plan, organize, and share ideas and complex processes. For example, you can use MindManager to map a complex construction project and share it with other users.
Corel introduced the MDECK file type when it released MindManager 21 in March 2021. You can create slide decks to organize slides based on mind maps for presentation purposes.
How to create an MDECK file
You can create a slide deck with MindManager by following one of the following three methods:
- Click the Slide Settings button (gear icon) in the Slides pane, then choose Create New Deck. Select File → Slide Deck. Select the View tab, click Slides in the ribbon, then choose Create New Deck.
In Windows, MindManager saves MDECK files in the following directory by default:
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Maps\My Slide Decks
How to open an MDECK file
You can open an MDECK file with Corel MindManager in Windows and macOS. To open the file, select File → Open.
How to convert an MDECK file
Corel MindManager can convert MDECK files to the following image formats:
- .JPG - JPEG Image
- .PNG - Portable Network Graphic
- .GIF - Graphical Interchange Format
- .BMP - Bitmap Image
- .EMF - Enhanced Windows Metafile
- .WMF - Windows Metafile
To convert an MDECK file, Click the Slide Settings button (gear icon) in the Slides pane, then choose Export as Image(s).
