What is an ITI file?
An ITI file is an instrument used by Impulse Tracker, an audio-tracking program. It contains instrument properties and samples in the Impulse Tracker Instrument (ITI) format, including volume loop start and end, pitch, fade-out count, number of samples, MIDI channel for the instrument, and instrument name.

Impulse Tracker is a free music tracker created by Jeffrey Lim and released in 1995. The music sequencing program allows you to create music by organizing notes in different channels as patterns.
You can choose the instruments (and their samples) to be played back according to specified notes by Impulse Tracker. The instruments you can choose from are saved in the ITI format, and users Impulse Tracker users can share them with each other.
How to open an ITI file
You can open an ITI file with Impulse Tracker (Windows). However, the software is not actively developed and may not run on your operating system version. CocoModX (macOS) can also open ITI files but is discontinued.

An ITI file may also be a skin used by InterActual Player, a DVD player for Windows and macOS. It contains settings used to alter the player's appearance. For example, an ITI file can alter InterActual Player's background and the color of its buttons.

InterActual Player is a DVD-playing program that came included on some movie DVDs. When a user attempted to play the DVD in Windows or macOS, InterActual Player prompted the user to install the program and set it as their default DVD player.
By default, InterActual Player included Earth and Water skins saved as ITI files. These skins alter the program's user interface (UI), including the color of its background and buttons. Users could also download additional ITI files from InterActual's website.
NOTE: InterActual Player has security issues and is no longer developed or supported.
How to open an ITI file
You can open an ITI file with InterActual Player (Windows, macOS). To do so:
- Select the Eye icon in the program's toolbar.
- Select More Skins.
- Navigate to and load your ITI file.
- In InterActual Player, select the skin you loaded and click Apply.
