What is a GPT file?
A GPT file is a template created by Arobas Music Guitar Pro 7, a music score application. It contains a musical score for an instrument used as a baseline by Guitar Pro users to create other scores (.GP files).

Guitar Pro is a music score application that enables you to create, edit, and listen to scores for instruments, such as guitar, bass, piano, or percussion. The software comes bundled with GPT templates and allows you to create custom templates.
To create a custom GPT file with Guitar Pro 7, create or open a music score, then select File → Save As Template.... Custom templates created by Guitar Pro 7 in Windows are saved in the following directory by default:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Arobas Music\guitarpro7\My Templates
NOTE: GPT templates do not contain actual audio data. Instead, they store instruments and musical notes simulated as music by the Guitar Pro engine in the software.
How to open a GPT file
You can only open a GPT file with Arobas Music Guitar Pro in Windows and macOS. To open a GPT file with Guitar Pro, place the template in the app's My Templates folder, then select File → New from Template in Guitar Pro and choose the template.
